This week has been another eye-opener for me.
I continue to come face to face with being resistant to changing the things that I know will be to my benefit.
My list of resistances is longer than I care to admit, and yet, as I look at the list, I see another possibility...
I can be with my resistance without any judgment.
One resistance I struggled with for a long time was having a morning routine. I thought that having a routine would limit me in my choice to be spontaneous and to act in the moment; that it would be too structured.
Sitting with this resistance regarding a morning routine, I faced my beliefs that I wasn't worth spending the time to prepare myself for the day physically, mentally and spiritually. I also discovered that I had expectations about what my routine "should" produce for me rather than allowing it to be organically what I needed; to trust the process and to trust me.
Having created a routine that does focus on starting my day with attention to my body, mind and soul has been such a blessing. And surprisingly, I find that it is not so regimented that I don't have any variety or choice in changing it up when the need arises. I cherish my morning time and trust myself to receive the benefits of making the choice to use the time to focus on me, knowing through this expression that I am worth it.
I feel much stronger having met my resistance with awareness and the power to choose beyond it.
Now on to the next item on my list and exploring what I can learn from this resistance and what I can benefit from letting go of the resistance to receive more greatness in my life. I'll be getting stronger as I continue to meet each resistance with these new insights.
I am reminded that every choice we make creates an awareness. It doesn't matter whether the choice is "good" or "bad", there is an awareness to be gained if I am willing to not judge it and to see it for what it will reveal about who I am being in that choice.
