It is feeling a lot more like Spring, as nature comes to life with color a pizzazz!
Nature shows us how life can be so grand when everything is in balance- just the right amount of sunshine, water, clean air, and space can make all the difference for a thriving world of nature.
And so too, for us.
The high vibration word this past week was BALANCE. May is typically one of those months that seems to be packed with events, things to do as the weather warms up and special occasions, along with people wanting to get out now that the pandemic is subsiding. It it a time when we can become out of balance.
As I reflect on all the aspects of my life that require balance, I realized that there are many. Mental balance, physical balance, financial balance, life balance, and personal/relationship balance.
This led me to be aware that we each have to know our own sense of balance. All too often, I will look to see what others are doing and compare myself to them, and that doesn't work for me, as I have my own sense of overall balance.
What works for me, doesn't need to work for anyone else.
For instance, the balance between work and play can look very different for different people. Some people see their work as play. Balance isn't so much about dividing your time equally between passions, it is about knowing how one feels when one is out of balance and isn't choosing to receive all that is needed to feel alive and full of joy.
How do you know when your life is out of balance?
How do you feel when your life is in balance?
One way I know when my life is out of balance is through my body. When I eat too much of foods that don't work for me, or when I eat too little of the foods that do work for me, my body tells me. When I do too much movement or too little, my body tells me.
When I am out of balance mentally, I get those blah days, where life seems so lifeless and the joy is waning, I know I have spent too much time on something, I know I have spent too little time on other things that add more to my life. Even things that may seem good for us, if we overdo them, can take us off balance.
The key is being aware, being willing to listen and most importantly to choose to make a change.
This brings me to the next part- What would it take for me to choose to be in balance by making different choices?
This question brings deeper awareness. What is it that making those changes that we know will create a better life by being in balance with all that makes life meaningful, fun and exciting so difficult?
In my experience with this question, I have come up with some insights for me:
